Uplifting Consciousness

I begin this article with a question!

Ask yourselves – What is the most common problem we find difficult to deal with? I’am absolutely sure, you would have your own share of those innumerable problems popping-up in your mind at this moment.

But, a deeper thought would reveal that, the real problem lies in controlling our own mind, a mind with suppressed consciousness.

The environment we dwell has energies (positive and negative) floating around us, all the time. It is the human tendency to easily absorb and pile up negative energies, while we should actually be in a state of constant consciousness and joy.

Why does this happen?

The ever growing restlessness within us, is the source of our problems. This restlessness is caused due to a restless mind. It is this unpredictable mind that constantly forms a thin veil of unwanted emotions, which we tend to hold-on and thereby take it, seriously and deeply.

We waste our time regretting our past and are anxious about our future. We have designed our mind to toggle between these thoughts. Hence, our mind is disturbed.

And this restlessness, generally, transcend to a state of inertia. At this deflated state, we experience negative emotions accumulating within us, rapidly consuming our conscience.

And, when there is restlessness, our mind finds no peace or joy. Inertia grabs our mind and the cycle repeats, until finally, we find ourselves loitering in the chasms of bad feelings. Our body will convolute itself into knots and thus, these negative emotions will have an overall bad impact on us.

So, is there a solution? What is it? Where can I find it?

The solution is in bringing peace to our mind.  One of the easiest techniques to achieve this, is to surrender our worries to a higher source of energy, that is, a Guru or a God.

Did you ever notice that when we pray, a certain tranquility develops in us, which signals unknown positive vibes within and around us, like an invisible aura?

Why does that happen? What makes us believe at that moment, that our problems are now under control? And that, we can succeed and lead back normal and happy lives.
It is the ‘positive energy’ that generates upon surrendering our problems, isn’t it?

Therefore, it is apt to say that, you can come out of your problems, by mere surrender to a higher source of energy.

Pujas or prayers, chanting mantras or verses; performed either individually or in a congregation, rejuvenates us and our awareness returns almost automatically.

Such pious methods develops the base that builds an intuition to understand our consciousness better. This awareness controls our mind, soothes and rejuvenates it.

The significance of Guru Pooja is also the same. It is a divine technique, performed to achieve the Grace or Blessing of the Master (Guru), either in a singular or collective consciousness. In Guru Pooja, we surrender ourselves in reverence to the Guru. The consciousness that develops at that moment assures you that you are being taken care of, by the Guru, and there is nothing else to worry about.

A Guru’s blessing is a precious gift. It ensures tranquility and peace in our rather, chaotic mind.

Guru Pooja is a wonderful way to adorn ourselves with this blessing that can uplift ourselves, to transcend to the extremes of consciousness. The outcome is the everlasting peace and joy, which is of course, our very nature and our very own self.

The other simple method is meditation.

Studies reveal that, in today’s world, psychological problems had constituted more illness than other forms of illness collectively. It is on a rise, and as per science, the best possible way to control it, is by doing meditation.

Meditation is an art of doing nothing. It is a unique way of connecting yourself to your inner self. As you meditate, you ‘Breath-In’ and ‘Breathe-Out’. The simple reason I can quote here is, as you breathe-in, your mind rejuvenates and as you breathe-out, your mind relaxes.

Meditating a few minutes daily increases your consciousness. An increased consciousness gives you better control of your life, help make better decisions, and overall lead a happier, disease-free life.
